Synopsis

It's the late 19th century and the high seas are no longer safe for whalers. Countless ships are sinking, and those that return tell of sea monsters under the waves. Professor Aronnax and his assistant Conseil, along with expert whaler Ned Land, embark on an expedition to find out if the stories of a terrifying giant whale are true. Frightening sea creatures pass their way including the famous giant squid, until the team are captured by Captain Nemo in his hi-tech submarine. What does he want from them and can they make it back to dry land?

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
