Actor Dev Patel and director Armando Iannucci talked to our reporter Eleanor to discuss their favourite moments working on the set of The Personal History of David Copperfield, covering everything from the on-set effects used to bring the story to life to the cast member that can do the best impressions. The Personal History of David Copperfield tells the story of an orphan, from birth through to adulthood, as he sets his sights on becoming a writer in Victorian England. On his journey he meets a wonderful array of characters who reveal to him the full range of humanity's capacity for cruelty, kindness and everything in between. In the interview above, Patel - who plays Copperfield - and director Iannucci talk about the main character and his evolving identity and discuss Dickens' work and how they went about adapting his writing for the screen.
