The nominees have been announced, and with our spring term theme being Achievement, we can't wait to celebrate the talent and hard work of some of Britain's top filmmaking talent.

See the full list of the nominations here, including our very own Into Film Ambassador, Eddie Redmayne who is up for Best Actor for his role in the transgender drama, The Danish Girl. We were lucky enough to interview British director Tom Hooper, and Eddie's co-star and Leading Actress nominee Alicia Vikander about the film - watch below.

Alicia Vikander has also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ex Machina. The sci-fi thriller has also picked up nominations for writer Alex Garland in Original Screenplay, and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.

We sent young reporter Anna to talk to the minds behind Ex Machina earlier in 2015.

One of our favourite interviews from 2015 was with celebrated screenwriter, and Adapted Screenplay nominee, Aaron Sorkin, where he gave young reporter Beattie top script writing tips. Famed for his idiosyncratic writing style, Aaron went into great detail with Beattie about his writing process, and what it was like working with Danny Boyle on Steve Jobs. Watch the full interview below.

To get you in the award season spirit here's young reporters Harry and Eronita on the 2015 BAFTA Awards red carpet, speaking to last year's winners J.K Simmons and Patricia Arquette, British stars Amma Asante and Gugu M'Batha-Raw and more from the world of film.

The awards will be taking place on Sunday 8 February, with awards season continuing throughout the term, not least our very own awards ceremony on March 15 celebrating the best film clubs, uses of film in the classroom and young filmmakers the UK has to offer.
