Sci-fi thriller ABEL wins our first Film of the Month

We are delighted to announce the first winners of our brand new filmmaking competition Film of the Month - students from Bath College with their sci-fi thriller, ABEL.

Entered on behalf of his students by teacher Ed Powell, ABEL was chosen from a shortlist of 9 top-notch finalists, who all provided outstanding entries. The tale is set in a dystopian future where, at a private military facility deep in the countryside, a group of elite soldiers are in training. But, as with many great stories, all is not as it seems.

Written, directed and starring the industrious group of students, June's winning entry, praised for its sound, creativity and originality, will now be showcased over 300,000 film club members online and on our Into Film YouTube channel, plus bag the makers a '100 Amazon voucher!

Watch ABEL for yourself below, and head to our YouTube channel to some of this month's runners up. Check back soon for an interview with the winning filmmakers.

This really is a fantastic achievement. The students had a great use of camera angles and a great script which was superbly acted and really developed the plot. I would happily watch the full length feature film version!
