Our board of trustees has gained two more film industry experts to help us inspire the next generation of children and young people. Col Needham, founder and CEO of IMDb, and David Kosse, President, International, Universal Pictures, are now both Into Film.

David and Col join a board led by Eric Fellner, Into Film Chair and Co-Chairman of Working Title Films, and Heather Rabbatts, Into Film Deputy Chair and Managing Director of Smuggler Entertainment. Board members include James Bond Producer Barbara Broccolli, former chair of First Light, and filmmaker Beeban Kidron, who founded FILMCLUB in 2006.

Both David and Col are true heavyweights in the film industry. IMDb, which Col started as a bedroom hobby to try and keep track of the sheer amount of films he was watching, is now the most viewed film website in the world, a one-stop shop for news, information, trivia and reviews. Col joined us for a live webcast last year to teach our members how to get the most out of the website.

Universal meanwhile have released some of the biggest hits of recent years under David's stewardship, including Les Miserables and Despicable Me 2. David also oversaw the release of Mamma Mia, which as well as being the highest grossing musical of all time, is also immensely popular with our members - over 500 young people have reviewed the film on the Into Film Clubs website, with 13-year-old Imrah summing up rather well:

"You can watch this movie loads of times without becoming bored because there is lots of drama and there is always something going on! Throughout the movie, there were lots of songs that got everybody off their feet singing and dancing. This created a tremendous atmosphere for both students and teachers."

This announcement comes at a great time for Into Film. Having launched in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, we are now rolled out across all four nations of the UK. Our long term goal is to inspire a love of film in every child and young person across the country, and these launches, coupled with our new board, will help us achieve these goals.

Having worked with Into Film in the past, I know first hand what great work they do. I'm delighted to have joined the board of such an inspiring and important organisation.
