St Matthew's Primary School win Film of the Month for July

Following on from Bath College's sci-fi thriller ABEL last month, Luton's St Matthew's Primary School are the latest group to win Film of the Month, with their short film How Much Change?

Set in a normal maths lesson about money, Kenza enters the world of her imagination to explore the theme of change in her own life. The film is funny, smartly made, and very successfully uses one idea to tell an entire story. A worthy winner.

Praised by the judges for its fantastic mix of live action and animation, How Much Change? will now be showcased to over 300,000 film club members online and on our Into Film YouTube channel plus the makers have bagged themselves a £100 Amazon voucher and a Into Film goodie bag.

July's winning film was chosen from a shortlist of 6 top-notch finalists, who all provided outstanding entries that can be seen on our YouTube channel.

Wonderfully creative, starts at such a simple question and explores how a girl's anxiety about the future can spiral into loads of questions and concerns. Loved the use of animation, the pace, the message and acting.

We caught up with the students and asked them what advice they have for other young filmmakers.

Dream big and let your imagination run wild. Never give up and be prepared to work hard! Also, don't wait, just do it, and don't be afraid to ask for help.
