Designed specifically for educators delivering film qualifications, this theoretical and practical session will explore the production of different types of film sound and the effects they create.

We'll provide you with a brief history of film sound, covering the silent era through to present day, and solidify your understanding of key terminology. Using highlights from a variety of films, we'll explore activities that you can use with your students to analyse the impact that different types of sound can have on the audience. You'll also have the opportunity to try your hand at creating your own sounds to enhance film content.

After the session, you'll gain access to the session presentation as well as complementary resources for use in class.

A thoroughly interesting and informative session. I learnt a lot about the different aspects of teaching sound.
