Into Film Festival 2017 - Edinburgh Zoo

As well as our extensive collection of free resources that you can make use of year-round, we also have dedicated resources for use with the Into Film Festival

Our festival resources are designed to enhance your experience of taking part in the Into Film Festival, and can be used either before or after your screening(s). These resources contain a variety of activities, including PowerPoint presentations with accompanying teachers notes and activities and are designed to be used alongside our Film Literacy Activities pack.

The 2018 Into Film Festival is divided into six strands, delivering a thought-provoking programme of diverse stories, genres and themes that will engage and excite young people in the cinematic experience.

Year of the Woman: Empowered Voices

Comedy Genius: Slapstick to Subversive

Anim18 Connections: An Animated World

Visions of Europe

Mental Wellbeing: Moving Minds

Saving the World: Eco Warriors, Superheroes and Revolutionaries

To help further enhance your Festival experience, and draw out the themes and issues explored in the film(s) you and your young people attend, we've developed new PowerPoint resources to support the six festival strands. With individual resources for Primary and Secondary ages - each linked to a specific strand and designed to be used alongside our Film Literacy Activities pack - they consist of a PowerPoint presentation with discussion questions, individual and collaborative tasks, and filmmaking prompts, for both before and after viewing.

Download our new Strand Resources above, and discover more about the individual Festival Strands on our Programme page.

Film Guides

As well as our overarching Strand Resources, we also have film guides specific to the films that are showing as part of this year's Festival programme. Our film guides are PowerPoint presentations that explore a film's key topics and themes through informal discussion and activities. We've picked out a few highlights, and you can browse all of our Festival-linked resources below.
