Feeling Like the Expert

Adam, Key Stage 2 Pupil, Phoenix Integrated Primary School

We started the Into Film project Full STEAM Ahead when we were in P6, in September 2016. In class we've used films for lots of subjects. We've studied music, made Maths movies to help teach younger pupils and made a video about Irish workhouses using the green screen. I've watched clips from other countries and learned about those countries. It's made me think that I could also be involved in films in the future.

Watching films has been great fun. Every time Mr Kelly says we are going to do some Into Film work I get excited. It makes me understand things better and is a great way to get ideas. My favourite films I've watched in class are School of Rock and The Astronomer's Son.

Since being involved in the project I've become more confident and able to lead others when we are doing group work. I worked with some of the pupils in class I didn't really work with before.

It has been the best project I have done in school. I liked movies before but now I love them. I feel like the expert at home when we watch movies.
