In this cult, Animal House-style comedy, young Danny wants to bag the caddy scholarship at Bushwood Country Club, but to do so, has to win the favour of the snobbish Judge Smails, while dealing with various eccentric members such as an obnoxious property developer and a laid-back playboy. Plot is not too important in Harold Ramis's directorial debut however, as the wacky and sometimes surreal gags come thick and fast. Best of all is Bill Murray's turn as a groundsman who becomes increasingly obsessed with catching a destructive gopher.
