French (English subtitles)
In some ways the great French comedian Jacques Tati's final film seems a strange way to bow out. Filmed on a low budget for a Swedish TV, it is in effect a recording of a circus performance with the great man himself the master of ceremonies and, of course, chief clown. But although the human dynamo postman of Tati's first film Jour de fete is now an older man, Tati still seems full of energy - revisiting his origins as a mime and stage comedian in the 1930s. And that was after all where his famous character of Mr Hulot came from in the first place - meaning Parade could be seen as a way of coming home.
Italian masterpiece from legendary director Federico Fellini about a circus strongman who buys a young woman from a poor family to be his assistant.
