Synopsis

A tale of romance set against the backdrop of India's struggle for independence, this powerful film combines memorable characters with dramatic history. The story takes place in August 1942, with Indian protestors clashing with the authorities in a small village in the Himalayas - a dangerous situation in which Nandu and Rajjo meet and fall in love. But can their new relationship survive with the country in the midst of such chaos?

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
