An intimate and intense black-and-white documentary exploring the Voudoun dances and rituals in Haiti shot by experimental filmmaker Maya Deren between 1947 and 1951. As a Voudoun initiate, Deren was able to take her camera where few have been before or since. She captured the ritual offerings, songs and dances of Rada, Petro and Congo cults.
