An Edgar Allan Poe tale of terror provides the inspiration for this great-looking horror set in 16th-century Spain. After the death of his wife, Nicholas Medina begins to go mad after becoming convinced that she has been buried alive. His suspicions aren't without foundation, as it turns out that she has faked her own death and is plotting to seize Nicholas's estate with the help of her lover. The action builds to a memorable finale in the torture chamber of the Medina castle, plus a memorable shock ending.
A fantastic cast of horror legends graces this less-than-faithful but very funny adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's dread-filled poem.
