Action and Adventure
You're probably familiar with the much-loved Disney version of Rudyard Kipling's story about an orphan boy raised by wolves - but the first film adaption is also a classic in its own right. An exuberant, Technicolor adventure which follows Mowgli back to the jungle to face his nemesis, Shere Khan, it's hard to believe the film (which stars real-life jungle beasts) was shot entirely in a Hollywood studio. There's not a dancing bear in sight, but the legendary Zoltan Korda's lively direction and the thrilling score more than make up for it.
