This whopping box-set spans three decades of British documentary filmmaking about transport from the 1950s to the 1980s. These films show Britain's changing social history over the period and cover almost everything you could ever want to know about the UK railway, with a little thrown in about ships and road vehicles besides. Volume 3 - Running a Railway - is a fond look back at the history, evolution and organisation of UK railway stations and includes 'Terminus' - a particularly intriguing and novel look at a day in the life of London's Waterloo station in the 1950's. Volume 6 - The Art Of Travel - includes short films such as A Letter for Wales, featuring a Welshman posting a letter for the Mail Train and reminiscing about the importance of transport to his rural community.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
