Synopsis

The career of German animator, Lotte Reiniger didn't end with her much celebrated 1926 film, The Adventures of Prince Achmed. In fact, she moved to Britain in the 1930s and went to make a series of fairy-tale films together with her husband Carl Koch. You'll find all your old favourites here complete with wonderful music tracks and charming narration. Disc 2 features 9 stories including Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel and Thumbelina. Please note, 192 mins is the total running time of Disc 1 & 2.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
