A lethal canine curse seems to have claimed another victim in this atmospheric detective mystery from the famous British Hammer studios. But is there really a giant, ghostly hound killing off Baskerville family members? Ultra-logical sleuth Sherlock Holmes thinks not, aiming to prove that it was human rather than supernatural forces that left wealthy Sir Charles Baskerville apparently dead of fright. Nonetheless, blood-curdling howls and a fresh batch of strange occurrences appear to support the legend, and suggest that Charles’ freaked out new heir, Henry, could be about to share his relative’s unfortunate fate. Handsomely gothic, fast paced and beautifully acted, genre master Terence Fisher’s old-fashioned chiller is a real classic of horror cinema.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
