The problem of – and one solution to – the sexual frustration of young disabled men forms the basis of this enlightened and unsentimental road movie that has won fans and awards at film festivals around the world. Three Belgian friends (one blind, one paraplegic and one quadriplegic) are on their way to a Spanish brothel that caters to those with disabilities – but the journey itself is full of surprises, not least the fact that their hired carer and driver Claude is a tough, no-nonsense woman. Disabled people are often portrayed as saintly asexuals but this cheeky comedy is a welcome redressing of the balance.
Unsentimental but optimistic film about two wheelchair-bound characters who form a strong bond with each other and their devoted, no-nonsense carer.
