Grace is a cool, streetwise East London girl, forced to head to the countryside with her parents on holiday as they struggle to save their marriage. After the initial horrors of limited mobile phone coverage and sounds of strange animals, Grace meets Say, a shy and withdrawn country boy, and the pair strike-up an unlikely relationship. This is a sensitive exploration of tentative adolescent romance, with beautiful scenic imagery and a hazy atmosphere so often associated with long, drawn-out summer days. But aside from budding love, the film also intelligently deals with Grace and Say’s efforts to come to terms with grief and an acceptance of flaws in their parents.
