Ben and George have been together for 39 years. They decide to take advantage of a change in the law and get married, but soon afterwards George is dismissed from his job. Forced to sell their flat, the couple have to temporarily move into the apartments of friends and relatives. For George, this means two party-loving gay cops living downstairs, whereas Ben is forced to share a bunk-bed with the teenage son of his nephew. This warm, sensitive drama is a touching depiction of a couple totally in love, as well as a universal story about families and the difficulties of sharing your personal space, even with those close to you.
Uplifting comedy about an unlikely moment in recent British history, when in 1984, gay rights activists offered to support the striking miners.
