Based on the experiences of the director’s brother Sven, who co-wrote the script, this excitingly captures the Paris club-scene in the early 1990s. The film follows teenager Paul, DJing his way from house parties to renowned clubs with his pioneering style of electronic dance music called French Touch. With a collective of DJs and partygoers around him, including the French duo Daft Punk, the film absorbs itself in Paul’s nightlife. Immersed in the euphoria of the dance-floor, it also touches on the hedonistic drinking and drug-taking the lifestyle attracts. Not shying away from the highs or the lows of Paul’s experiences, as the 1990s draw to a close he is reluctant to admit that a new generation of music is evolving.
