Years before Queen Ravenna was defeated by Snow White, she looked on as younger sister Freya suffered a tragedy causing her to flee the kingdom. Armed with magical powers allowing her to freeze any enemy, Freya establishes a wintry palace, raising an army of huntsman, including Eric and Sara, who ignore the ice queen’s most important demand: never fall in love. Banished, the two warriors have to find their way back to the kingdom in order to prevent the Magic Mirror from falling into Freya’s evil clutches, a danger only increased when Freya learns she may not have seen the last of her sister. With an impressive cast, this film takes the Snow White story even further away from the original fairytale, but in immersive and enjoyable fashion.
The first film in Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of JRR Tolkein's fantasy novel trilogy, in which a humble hobbit is entrusted with a magic ring.
