Based on the true story of Afshin Ghaffarian, as he and his friends decide to rebel against their Iranian government to pursue the freedom to dance. Despite the act of dancing being forbidden in the country, the group decide to set up an underground dance company where they learn, via YouTube, from the best, watching videos of Michael Jackson and Gene Kelly, amongst others. Ultimately they set out to put on a performance to an audience, using the vast desert landscape as the setting in order to evade the authorities, though fully aware that one wrong move could result in drastic repercussions for all.
