Synopsis

SS General Reinhard Heydrich was a high-ranking Nazi official, seen as third-in-command in the Third Reich after Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler. Set across 1941 and 1942, this historical thriller closely follows the true story of Operation Anthropoid, a mission with the ultimate aim of assassinating Heydrich. It sees Jozef Gabčik and Jan Kubiš, two self-exiled Czech soldiers, return to their homeland in order to carry out the attack. As they attempt to evade capture after parachuting into Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, the two must seek out a contact and join up with the rest of the resistance to have any chance of succeeding in this extraordinary tale of courage.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
