Synopsis

Stranded on a deserted island, Hank is on the verge of ending it all when he discovers a washed-up body, which in his lonely state he decides to name Manny. Harnessing Manny’s incredible gas propulsion powers to get across the water, Hank manages to find his way back onto the mainland, but still needs to navigate the wilderness. As he begins to find signs of civilisation in the form of discarded trash, these familiar objects reignite Hank’s desire to live. Making their way through the backwoods together, Hank opens up to Manny, and reveals how he came to be in the hopeless state he was in when they made their first encounter.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
