Coming of Age, Drama, Family
Sent off to live with his grandad at a cattle farm in the Western Australia region of Pilbara, 11-year-old Mick struggles to settle and find his place, until he finds a puppy who needs his help. Taking him under his wing and calling him Red, the two become inseparable and embark on life’s adventures together. Based on an Australian legend, the film is set in the 1970s and richly explores the highs and lows of coming-of-age and friendship, as Mick and Red learn to live with his stern grandad and the band of eccentrics who live on the farm.
