Synopsis

Harold Meyerowitz is a respected, retired sculptor, even if his career achievements haven’t quite been what he’d hoped. Outside of work, Harold’s true pride and joy is his second son, Matthew, now a high-flying businessman living on the west coast, and barely in contact with the rest of his family. Now with his fourth wife Maureen, Harold is visited by Danny, his eldest son, who is desperate to impress his father and keen to make up for lost time. When Harold has a health scare, the dysfunctional troupe – including his daughter Jean and granddaughter Eliza – are brought together to make sense of their lives and the relationship with those around them. ‘The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)’ sees filmmaker Noah Baumbach explore values around family, success and feeling connected in typically witty and comedic fashion.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
