This documentary follows Dina, a woman living with learning difficulties, in the build-up to her wedding day with fiancée Scott, who has Asperger Syndrome. The weeks preceding it involve dealing with Scott moving out of his parent’s house and into her apartment for the first time, whilst juggling his schedule working at a local department store. Dina is approaching marriage for the second time, having overcome trauma and tragedy earlier on her life, yet remaining unflappable in seeking to build the life for herself that she deserves. Told with a deep level of intimacy between the filmmakers and the subjects, this is a warm, empathetic film about an unconventional romantic relationship, told with a clear understanding of the unique complexities the couple’s situation presents.
