Christian is a successful curator at the most prestigious art gallery in Stockholm. For their next exhibit, “The Square”, he commissions an installation that seeks to remind passersby of their responsibilities as human beings. But when his phone is stolen his reaction is totally overblown and irrational, particularly after he finds the young boy he believes to be the thief. Meanwhile the PR department of the museum are planning a campaign that will garner controversy from all corners. This Palme d’Or-winning drama at Cannes Film Festival is an eccentric, vivid and often very funny satire on social media and the contemporary art world, questioning what the role of art and artists should be within it.
