Returning home from the hospital, after an acid attack that has left her with severe facial scars, young mother Jade tries to find money to undergo facial reconstruction surgery. Upset that her young daughter is now afraid of her appearance and her mother will not lend her the money for surgery, she starts a new job at a call centre to raise enough funds for a procedure in Morocco. Struggling to start a new chapter in her life, with difficult family and work events happening all around her, Jade’s world is close to crumbling or could be the final push she needs to rebuild her life. This is a harrowing and moving film that highlights some of the difficulties faced by young women with a lack of opportunities and the emotional toll faced by victims of acid attacks.
