In this "slice of life" from early 1980s Britain, we meet the various members of an ordinary London family, struggling with the reality of living in a country where unemployment was soaring and the future looked anything but rosy. Many of the characters are stuck on the dole and mostly all living in the same cramped council flat. Despite the bleak situation, there's a rich vein of humour that runs the whole way through the story and makes it highly watchable even as it portrays a time when much of the country seemed to be coming apart at the seams.
Award-winning drama set in west London which shows the pressures facing contemporary teenagers.
