Shot in black and white, this film noir thriller is a tribute to classic movies of the 1940s such as Casablanca. George Clooney stars as Jake Geismer, a world-weary American journalist sent to post-war Berlin, a city which holds many memories for him but which has been changed enormously by the conflict. He is reunited with an old flame - but she is not the woman she used to be either. Jake then becomes embroiled in a conspiracy that reaches to the very top, and where no-one can be trusted. The result is an intriguing morality tale with stunning visuals and powerful performances.
This adaptation of a Graham Greene story is a great twisty thriller set in post-War Vienna.
