Synopsis

Warren Beatty directs and stars in this adaptation of the adventures of the iconic American detective in the yellow trench coat, here battling with mob boss "Big Boy" Caprice and his gang of goons as well as fending off the romantic intentions of Caprice's sexy moll, Breathless Mahoney. Visually the film dazzles, its super-saturated colour making the movie seem as if a comic strip has genuinely come to life while, almost unrecognisable under their cartoonish make-up, the big-name actors clearly have great fun with their roles.

What our educators say

"The art of discussion has improved and the breadth of language used has been enhanced by the variety of films watched, all of which we order free from the Into Film website."
