Kathy is a troubled woman living in a house she inherited from her father. When the house is repossessed as a result of unpaid bills, it's bought at auction by an Iranian family who came to America as political refugees. Kathy becomes increasingly desperate in her efforts to get the house back but the father of the Iranian family, Mr Behrani, also stubbornly refuses to give up what he believes is now rightfully his. The house that was supposed to be a refuge becomes the source of anger and turmoil - and as the conflict escalates, there are disturbing and unforeseen consequences.
A poignant tale that permits us to connect with the lives of children struggling to survive and to cling onto their dreams of a happy future.
