Writer-director David Mamet's thriller could be described as a homage to Alfred Hitchcock, such are its many hugely enjoyable twists and turns. Joe is an industrial engineer who has created a mysterious "process" that should earn him untold riches. When his company look like they're out to swindle him of his cut, help seems to arrive in the form of wealthy stranger Jimmy. However, nothing and nobody are what they seem in this maze-like story - and soon Joe is in mortal danger. Great performances and Mamet's trademark rapid-fire dialogue add to the head-scratching fun.
