A classic ghost story originally written by M.R. James. An archaeologist goes to Norfolk on the trail of three ancient crowns that were once supposed to have protected the coast from invasion - two are lost forever, but one might still exist in the area. The man who reportedly watched over it is dead, but something still seems to be keeping outsiders away. A marvellously creepy tale, told simply and mostly in daylight, rather than using the usual trick of relying on darkness for chills.
Three classic ghost stories from the BFI Children's Film Foundation: The Man from Nowhere, Haunters of the Deep and Out of the Darkness.
