In this sequel to The Black Stallion, Alec and his rescued horse Black live happily on a farm in America. However, their peace is shattered when the stallion's original owners arrive to reclaim him by force. Alec is devastated and decides to take matters into his own hands by stowing away on a ship bound for Africa, where Black will be competing in an all-important race to determine which tribe will rule the Sahara.
