Synopsis

Angelina Jolie plays Christine Collins, a mother in 1920s Los Angeles whose son, Walter, is kidnapped. Months later she is told that he has been found alive, but when the two are reunited, she is convinced that this 'Walter' is not her real son. Clint Eastwood's enigmatic period crime drama, based on a true story, probes the corruption rife in LA officialdom, its air of mystery mirroring murky goings-on at every level, and creating empathy between the viewer and Christine as she searches for truth in a system that seeks to thwart her at every turn.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
