This Rudyard Kipling adaptation is a family entertainment classic. Harvey, the spoilt son of a shipping businessman, falls overboard from a luxury liner and is picked up by a passing fishing boat. On board is Portuguese fisherman Manuel (played superbly by Spencer Tracy in an Oscar-winning performance), who tries to teach the boy about the real world and to value friendships with people from all walks of life, before he is reunited with his over-indulgent parents.
A superb semi-documentary recreation that sticks closely to the facts of the stricken passenger cruiser the Titanic.
