Coming of Age, Drama, Thriller
A middle-aged Bobby Garfield reminisces about a pivotal summer when, as a child, he met Ted Brautigan, a drifter with strange mental abilities such as mind reading and telekinesis. When Brautigan is taken in as a lodger by Bobby's mother, the young boy seems to adopt some of his powers, so Brautigan charges him with keeping an eye out for the mysterious 'low men' who are following him for some unknown yet threatening reason. Based on two Stephen King stories, this combines the author's trademark interest in the supernatural with a more traditional coming-of-age tale.
Fans of a certain boy wizard by the name of Harry might enjoy this classic Disney sci-fi drama about two telepathic children.
