We have thousands of dog-orientated films on the market, several better than this lump of plotless viewing material. After finding a dog in the supermarket, little girl Opal makes a friend in it, on a spur-of-the-moment event she names it Winn-Dixie, the name of the aforesaid supermarket. Very unoriginal. There is absaloutely no plot involved whatever. Yes, the girl does make a few friends and finds out about some of the town's history, but that is not enough to call the mess around the movie a plot. It's incredibly dreary, and you get bored to tears as you watch it. The actors are good, however, and there are a few funny moments, so that has prevented me from clicking in the circle next to the one-star icon. Only watch this if you like dogs or like a bit of a laugh in a film with no storyline whatsoever. I personally wouldn't recommend it, but I like a movie with more of a plot.
