This film is the directorial debut of Joe Cornish (The Adam and Joe Show). And what a way to kick start! This film shocked me. When I sat down to watch this film I was expecting something similar to gritty films such as Kidulthood or This is England. And I wasn't wrong for the first ten minutes or so. Then the genre completely flipped into some sort of suburban sci-fi. Think 'Shameless' meets Predator. It's a really interesting watch and it features superb comedy from Nick Frost. I didn't recognize any of the younger actors in the film but they look like promising up and coming stars.
