Defiance (2008)

"Clever". This film is a regular war time film. It is a long film at two hours and seventeen minutes. The film is based in 1941, at this time the Jews have been prosecuted worldwide by the Germans and their supporters. Now all we hear about is how the German Jews were prosecuted. This film shows us that it was a wide spread prosecution, during the film we follow a group of Russian Jews who have resulted to living in the woods. We follow them through good and bad weather, love, hate and also family relationships. Astounding performance from Daniel Craig and of course Liev Schreiber who play two of the four Beilski brothers. They comfortably suit their roles as brothers right from the start. "Leader" is the word that springs to mind. when I think about this film, in order to survive the camp needs a strong, powerful and loyal leader Or the would never survive in the wild, Tuvier (Daniel Craig) is the perfect leader and shows his courage throughout the film. I would give this film a four out of five. I would not give this Film A five because at times I believe there was a lack of entertainment and it became a little dull. Overall, I think this film is superb and the cast that was chosen was Just right for this style movie. To improve this movie there could be an additional part to it that would spice it up a little more and give it a bit more power, for example a secret from someone's past. One phrase to sum up this movie would be "Classic and Classy".
