The Artist is a brilliant tribute to the silent movie genre. In a world filled with technology, the decision to make a silent movie was daring to say the least, but the risk has well and truly paid off. It really has shown me that film is not only a form of entertainment but also a form of art and in terms of art I would have to call it a masterpiece. I was lost in a world of beauty in which the void of silence was filled with inventive imagery and a terrific score. If I had to say one criticism of the film, it would be in the final scene when the film introdiced sound in the form of dialogue, it slightly spoilt the magic. But that is irrelevant, the film is a triumph.
