I disliked this film. It is fragmented, there is a definite beginning and end but no middle. She is either young and healthy or completely defeated by the disease with no in between stage. I felt it exaggerated how quickly the effects of the disease come on. It felt unnecessarily soppy and sentimental, and came across as more of a mourning of the novelists passing than a celebration of her (rather brilliant and vibrant) life. Despite everything it is well acted and written with intelligence.
