The Namesake The film the namesake is a Film about a relationship between in an Indian boy and his father. The son was called Gogol, the son of Indian immigrants, wants to fit in among his fellow New Yorkers. The story of the Ganguli family whose move from Calcutta to New York evokes a lifelong balancing act to meld to a new world without forgetting the old. Though parents Ashoke and Ashima (Irrfan Khan, Tabu) long for the family and culture that enveloped them in India. The director was Mira Nair, she was actor, director and producer based in New York City. Gogol, the son of Indian immigrants, wants to fit in among his fellow New Yorkers. The main character Kal Penn was born in New Jersey and his parents immigrated to America from India. Written was the story by Sooni Taraporevala (screenplay)and Jhumpa Lahiri (novel). I think that the film was on some parts boring but on some parts good aswell. The second thing was sometimes not good in their parts so thats why i would only give 1 and a half of 5 stars.
