Darkly brilliant tale that sees a disguised ex-con hunt down a secret stash of money.

This is a great film, no actual violence just great acting. Charels Laughton has proved that you can still create a scary film even without adding lots of murder and violence. The idea of having a crazy mad man (who is meant to be a preacher) tracking down the children makes this story line very spooky. Robert Mitchum portrays the disturbing dad with love and hate written on his fingers very well. You emediately doubt whether this man with is as good as he claims to be. Overall I think very highly of this film. The setting and cenery are god the characters are interesting and the film plot has you on the edge of your seat.

Overall I would give this film 10000000/10
