I thought that this was a wonderful film with a quirky fantasy/martial arts Genre. This Film was by the renowned Director Rob Minkoff (born august 11 1962) for directing the double Academy Award–winning animated feature The Lion King with Roger Allers. He has also Directed Stuart Little (1999), Stuart Little 2 (2002), The haunted Mansion (2003), his latest film flypaper (2011) and of course the forbidden Kingdom. The cast in this film was made up of a lot of brilliant martial arts genre actors. First and foremost we have one of not only the best actors in the world but the stunt and martial art genius Jackie Chan (born April 7 1954) and his childhood nickname was Pao-pao (cannonball). He stars many films such as Big and little Won tin Bar (1962), The Eighteen Darts (1966), The Golden Lotus (1974), Bruce Lee and I (1975), Police Story (1985), Dragons forever 1988 and The Karate Kid (2010). Another Brilliant actor in this film is Jet Li, an actor who is up there with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan in the martial arts greats. Jet Li ( born April 26 1963) did three years of intensive martial arts training with Wu bin. With that hard work and determination he won the National championships in Beijing as part of the Wushu team. After retiring from Wushu aged 19 he became an actor for films like Shaolin Temple (1982) and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) This Film follows the exploits of a young boy who likes buying martial arts Films from his local pawn shop. The owner is a mysterious old man who keeps his store room of limits to even his best customers. A gang of bullies come and wreck the shop, the old man sadly is shot and the boy has to defend himself against the bullies. He picks up a golden staff and before he knows it he is whisked away to a magical land of kung fu and emperors. He meets a haggard drunkard on his travels through the land and he tells him of a Legend of a substitute emperor who dictates the lands so he can get a potion of immortality. Years ago he made a Monkey king solid stone and it is the parties job to overthrow this dictatorship and restore peace to the land. But the emperor sends out a witch assassin and it makes the parties job a lot harder. Picking up new friends along the way and fighting for their life, how is this story going to end. We all know that you have to watch it to find out.
