On the poster of Foxcatcher it states that it has been nominated at the golden globes for best picture in the drama category, from what I have seen in Foxcatcher today I sure hope it wins that prize, because in my opinion Foxcatcher is a brilliant film... Foxcatcher is a film that tells a shocking true story which has been said to be a really serious and unsettling tale of a coachman slowly going insane and this film portrays that story on-screen in a way in which it hides nothing, it gives everything to you face value; nothing in Foxcatcher is portrayed discreetly or hidden away to prevent shock for the audience, it goes into a lot of detail to everything that happened during these events and the audience gets to see everything that happened to the Schultz brothers and John du Pont, and for a film like this I think that is an absolutely fantastic way to go about a topic like this, this film is a very daring film to show dark content like this and everybody knows how I feel about daring and dark content in films... I love that kind of content, the music for this film is done in such an incredible a way to the point of which the music is one of the things that drives this movie, the way in which the music is done is to show the audience the certain tone we are currently in whilst watching the movie, like when Mark Schultz is not in Team Foxcatcher and he is just doing his wrestling with his brother David; at that point no music is playing at all which shows the audience that nothing is currently happening in terms of succeeding or failing, they both want to be bigger and better people yet the team they are in isn't doing that, so the music in the film shows that nothing is affecting them, when Mark joins Team Foxcatcher he begins to become bigger and better so the music begins playing in like an up beat way to show Mark is gaining success, and when John begins to go insane and mad then the music goes into this dark down beat kind of music to show something's wrong, and in my personal opinion the way the music is portrayed in this movie is absolutely brilliant, Steve Carell is the other thing that drives this movie along with the music... if anything Steve Carell is the best thing in this movie, I just love it when an actor who is known for doing something they constantly do like if they constantly do comedies like Steve does, and then all of a sudden they do a movie that is completely different to what they do and it completely changes the way you see them... that's Steve Carell in this movie, I'm going to remember Steve Carell for doing Foxcatcher for now on, he was just absolutely brilliant as John du Pont and I don't think anybody else could have portrayed John du Pont as well as Steve did, the way in which Steve shows John's dark turn is so brilliantly portrayed that it was like Steve was born to play the role as John du Pont, I also thought that Channing Tatum showed Mark's conflict towards John du Pont really well, and I liked seeing Mark Ruffalo on-screen as David Schultz; I have to say Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum show their brotherhood in this movie fantastically and I also think that nobody else could have played the Schultz brothers as well as Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo did, that's the thing Foxcatcher has a perfect cast and I feel that no other actor(s) could have played those characters as well as this cast did in Foxcatcher, I really loved the film's grim and dark tone as I do with all movies that have this kind of tone, at no point whilst watching Foxcatcher did I feel bored or exhausted because some people have said this film is too slow and too long, but to perfectly honest with you I didn't think that at all I thought that this film was going at a nice steady pace and the film has a perfect running time, and the direction from Bennett Miller is absolutely fantastic as he directs the entire cast and crew really well to the point of which it looks like a jigsaw has been fit perfectly together by a guy who is a master at putting together jigsaws, overall I think that Foxcatcher is an absolute masterpiece and it's most likely going to be on my top 5 films of 2015 list by the end of the year (look at me it's only the beginning of 2015 and I'm already thinking about films going on my top 5 films of 2015 list), it portrays a shocking true story on-screen brilliantly, it has daring and dark content that I really love seeing in every film that has this kind of content including this film, it portrays the music in a brilliant way also, Steve Carell and the entire cast is absolutely brilliant and perfectly cast in this movie, I love the film's grim and dark tone, the film is perfectly timed and steadily paced, and Bennett Miller's direction is fantastic, seriously I want to watch Moneyball and Capote now that I have watched this movie because if this movie was directed brilliantly then I'm pretty sure those two other movies would have been directed brilliantly as well, I will give Foxcatcher a 10 out of 10, and I hope the golden globes gives Foxcatcher the best picture award in the drama category because it deserves it.
